Help & guides
Everything you need to get great holograms out of AI Holo Lab — how each feature works, and the habits that make results dramatically better.
Getting started in three steps
1 · Add your content
Upload a logo or product photo (PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG), or switch to "Describe an idea" and type what you want to see. After uploading, check the Logo / Product toggle is set correctly — it changes how the AI treats your image.
2 · Pick a movement
Tap a movement and the live preview plays a real demo of it. Your uploaded image replaces the demo subject at generation time.
3 · Add an effect and generate
Effects are background flourishes that never touch your logo or product. Movement and effect are generated together in the final hologram. Each generation takes about 2–4 minutes and produces a 10-second, 960×960 MP4.
Logo vs Product — which to choose?
Logo preserves the exact design and colours of your artwork — use it for logos, wordmarks, icons and flat graphics. Product treats the image as a physical object and preserves its look, label and details in 3D space — use it for bottles, boxes, devices and anything photographed. Product mode asks for a short description (e.g. "dark blue glass water bottle with silver cap") — this keeps the AI accurate, and your product is never redesigned.
Image best practices
- Use a clear, high-resolution image — at least 300 × 300 pixels (bigger is better; we auto-shrink anything over 6000px).
- A clean background helps: plain or transparent backgrounds give the cleanest holograms.
- For products, a front-facing photo with the whole item in frame works best.
- Avoid screenshots with surrounding text or UI — crop to just the subject.
Movements explained
Swivel
Your subject turns left and right, like it’s showing itself off. The safest all-rounder for logos.
Spin Up
Rises spinning from below, grows to full size, holds, then spins back down. Great dramatic entrance.
Slow Spin
A continuous, elegant 360° rotation. Ideal for products where every side matters.
Rise & Reveal
Scales up from nothing and settles into place. Clean and premium for reveals and launches.
Assemble
Builds itself together from pieces. Eye-catching for tech brands and product launches.
Effects explained
Particles
Soft floating sparkles around your subject.
Light Beams
3D light rays firing outward from behind the subject.
Energy Burst
Radiating pulses of energy around the subject.
Rings
Orbiting energy rings circling the subject.
Geo Fireworks
3D geometric shapes exploding outward like fireworks.
Pulse Ripples
Concentric ripples pulsing outward.
Ring of Fire
A ring of particle flame moving around the subject.
None
Movement only — often the cleanest choice for detailed logos.
Effects are designed to stay in the background and never illuminate or interfere with your subject.
Advanced Mode
Advanced Mode gives you full creative control with a free-text prompt, optionally guided by a reference image. Tips for strong prompts:
- Describe the subject first, then the motion, then the mood: "A chrome Holofex cube exploding into glowing shards that reassemble, slow orbit, cinematic lighting."
- Say what the camera or subject does over time — AI video responds well to one clear action.
- Keep backgrounds pure black in your description — that's what makes it read as a hologram on the fan.
- Attach a reference image to lock in style, colours and composition.
3D Model mode
Turns a single photo into a fully textured 3D model, exported as a GLB file for Holofex Studio and other 3D tools. Use one clear, front-facing photo of a single object. This mode produces a model file rather than a hologram video.
Getting your hologram onto your fan
- Download the MP4 from the result screen or My Holograms.
- Upload it to your fan with the fan manufacturer's app — the file is square, pure-black-background, and works with Holofex and other holographic fan displays.
- Download anything you want to keep: downloaded holograms are yours forever.
Troubleshooting
"This image is too small"
Your image must be at least 300 × 300 pixels. Export a larger version from your design tool, or request the original file rather than a thumbnail.
A generation failed
Failed generations are not counted against your allowance — just try again. If it keeps happening with one image, try a cleaner or larger version of it.
The result isn't quite what I pictured
AI output varies by nature — regenerating the same input often produces a better take. For logos, try the "None" effect first; for products, a more specific description helps.
Out of generations
Your allowance renews monthly. You can upgrade your plan or buy add-on generations ($8 USD each) any time in Settings.
